Love peanut butter but trying to watch the fat or calories? Is it really possible to get the flavor of peanuts with only 15% of the fat? Sounds too good to be true ... or is it?

Fitness Tip

  • The sneaky thing about sodas, juices, sports drinks, alcohol, and coffee is the number of calories vs. the amount of benefits they provide. A can of non-diet soda typically has 140-180 calories, nearly all of them from sugar. A drink from Starbucks can easily double that. But they are providing no nutritional value.

Say you only need 1,800 calories a day. You can easily blow nearly 10% of them on a single can of Coke, with zero benefit. And while juices can have vitamins, they are mostly sugar. The fiber content alone would make eating a whole orange better than drinking a glass of orange juice.

So unless your drink IS your meal (juicing, protein shake, or Shakeology), drink water instead and let your food provide your calories. You’ll feel fuller longer and your body will get more of what it needs.

Testimonials

  • I recently took part in a 90 day Challenge Group through Facebook hosted and lead by Matthew Pryor. With daily ‘check-ins’ and inspirational writing by Matthew, the experience was exactly what I needed. I needed accountability and motivation and that’s what Matthew facilitated for us. My exercise and diet habits have changed for the better and I’m thankful to Matthew for helping me accomplish that.

  • Vitamix Review: Our Favorite Appliance

Vitamix. Is it everything they say it is? I'm here to tell you, it's more. This multi-purpose, powerhouse of a machine will not only help get you healthier, you'll be looking for excuses to use it. It's without its flaws, but we wouldn't trade it for 100 pounds of organic kale.
