Your goal should not be to go on a diet… it should be to work on a lifestyle. Even when you’re following a plan, the plan should be to help you incorporate a long-term strategy.

For example, going low-carb to shed some fat makes sense. But from that, you should be learning how to eat the right kind and amount of carbs. The goal isn’t to be low-carb for life, but rather to learn how to be carb-smart.

You see, most all diets work for most people. The problem is that most diets aren’t sustainable for most people. Lifestyles are.

I was feeling defeated and frustrated with my health due to a chronic illness, but Matthew and the group met me where I was at and provided the balance of grace and truth that I needed. I lost 10 lbs during my first challenge, but more importantly I learned to be faithful with my responsibilities (eating well, exercising, etc.) and to trust God with the rest.
