Mindless Eating is an illuminating and groundbreaking book. Food psychologist Brian Wansink shows why you may not realize how much you’re eating, what you’re eating–or why you’re even eating at all. Easily the most interesting nutrition book you'll ever read.

Love peanut butter but trying to watch the fat or calories? Is it really possible to get the flavor of peanuts with only 15% of the fat? Sounds too good to be true ... or is it?

Fitness Tip

  • The more ingredients in the foods you’re buying, the more likely it’s a highly processed food. So when you’re shopping, try to buy foods with the fewest ingredients. For instance, if you’re looking for all-natural peanut butter, there should be one, maybe two ingredients: peanuts and salt. No added oils or hydrogenated gunk.

If you really want to get crazy, start buying one-ingredient foods. Buy plain greek yogurt, rather than the yogurt that has “fruit” in it… the fruit undoubtedly has added sugars, preservatives, and concentrates. Buy tuna packed in water, not oil. Buy real butter, not the light or hybrid or “heart-healthy” spreads. Who wants to eat “spreads” anyway? They’re the home version of movie theater popcorn “flavoring.” I want real butter made from all-natural cream and nothing else. I can add my own salt thank you very much.

This is a process that certainly takes getting used to. But it’s also a time when less really is more.

Testimonials

  • … I realized not long after the group started that I needed the accountability. But what really helped was learning how God’s Word applied to my health and well-being. I managed to lose 27 pounds and gain a great deal of knowledge. Praise God for people like Matthew …

  • Vitamix Review: Our Favorite Appliance

Vitamix. Is it everything they say it is? I'm here to tell you, it's more. This multi-purpose, powerhouse of a machine will not only help get you healthier, you'll be looking for excuses to use it. It's without its flaws, but we wouldn't trade it for 100 pounds of organic kale.
