  • To get the most of every workout and to help with injury prevention, it is essential to rest after a strength-training workout. Muscles need time to repair and rebuild themselves even stronger and they do this during rest. You can do a different muscle group or do cardio, just don’t strength train the same muscles on back-to-back days. Giving muscle groups at least 48 hours between strength workouts is usually adequate.
