Have your kids help you plant a produce garden. When they are a part of growing their own food, they will be way more apt to eat it.

There’s also the benefit of them getting to see how hard farmers work. It’s good for them to have an appreciation for this, rather than just thinking that food comes from Costco or Kroger.

As parents, we have the enormous responsibility (and privilege) of rearing healthy children. It’s up to us, not up to our genes.

So start a garden with them, even if it’s just one vegetable or a couple of herbs. And when harvest time comes, watch how interested they suddenly are in eating their veggies.
