  • Why We Get Fat

Why We Get Fat is an invaluable key in our understanding of an international epidemic and a guide to what each of us can do about it. A follow up to his New York Times best seller, Good Calories, Bad Calories, Taubes reveals the bad nutritional science of the last century, none more damaging or misguided than the “calories-in, calories-out” model of why we get fat, and the good science that has been ignored, especially regarding insulin’s regulation of our fat tissue.

Love peanut butter but trying to watch the fat or calories? Is it really possible to get the flavor of peanuts with only 15% of the fat? Sounds too good to be true ... or is it?

Fitness Tip

  • One of the best ways to build your core is to do things on unstable surfaces. So whether standing on one leg, using a BOSU Trainer (that blue bubble-shaped apparatus you see at gyms), using a stability ball rather than a bench, doing push-ups on medicine balls rather than the floor, or using TRX equipment, all these methods require stabilizer muscles and core strength.

This will be very hard at first… you’ll likely fail a lot… but over time, your core will be so solid and strong that you’ll be able to cut back the amount of time you spend doing dedicated core-only exercises.

Fitness Equipment

  • Adjustable Dumbbells - Home Fitness Equipment
    Adjustable Dumbbells

The Bowflex SelectTech adjustable dumbbells are the most important pieces of equipment I own. One set of dumbbells that can range from 2.5 to 52.5 pounds, replacing the need for 15 separate sets. Easy to use. Easy to store.

If you can only have one piece of equipment, this is the piece to have.

And with Amazon, you know you'll get a great price and quick shipping!

Testimonials

  • I’m new to these weight loss challenges. I am good at starting diets but always lose my motivation. Jenny was great. Always checking in, giving support and posting inspiration. When I struggled she was understanding and encouraged me not to give up even though I did not lose as much weight as I wanted.  She is such a great role model – someone who is not only a coach but in the trenches herself fighting to get healthier. I would like to do another challenge with her in the future.

  • Vitamix Review: Our Favorite Appliance

Vitamix. Is it everything they say it is? I'm here to tell you, it's more. This multi-purpose, powerhouse of a machine will not only help get you healthier, you'll be looking for excuses to use it. It's without its flaws, but we wouldn't trade it for 100 pounds of organic kale.
