We all know that we should get better sleep because of the biological benefits. But equally important are the emotional benefits. Just think about your ability to focus more, have a more positive demeanor, and the ability to make better decisions. What does this have to do with fitness? Improved decision making effects our food choices and our choice to exercise or not. When we are tired, we succumb to poor health decisions, rationalization, quick fixes, or unrealistic assumptions about how we’ll do the next day.

Sleep is the third leg of the fitness stool. Without proper sleep, you’ll be shaky, unbalanced, and unhappy with your results.

Turn off the TV, put away your phone, shut down the Xbox, and close your browser. Sound sleep will be worth it!
