If you think you might be overtraining, consider making one or more of these changes:

A week of active recovery (walking, stretching, light yoga, etc) for every 3-6 weeks of an intense exercise regimen is prudent.

Doing the same thing over and over is not a good idea. Probably time to mix in some new forms of exercise.

Make your nutrition line up with your exercise. Weightlifters have different nutritional needs than runners who have different needs than yoga enthusiasts who have …

Make sure you’re getting 7-8 hours of sleep. Your body was designed to work at maximum capacity on minimal rest.

Make smaller increases in your cardio or in the weights your lifting. If you’re going too fast or too much too soon, your destined for setbacks.

Overtraining can lead to some serious health problems, which will only work against you reaching your goals. So try one or more of the above and see if it doesn’t result in improvements in your fitness.

I’m new to these weight loss challenges. I am good at starting diets but always lose my motivation. Jenny was great. Always checking in, giving support and posting inspiration. When I struggled she was understanding and encouraged me not to give up even though I did not lose as much weight as I wanted. She is such a great role model – someone who is not only a coach but in the trenches herself fighting to get healthier. I would like to do another challenge with her in the future.
