Salads can be overrated for their healthfulness when they consist primarily of fattening dressing poured over iceberg lettuce and little else.

The first way to combat this is to get the dressing on the side AND LEAVE IT THERE. Then, whenever you take a bite, first dip your fork halfway into the dressing and pull it out. The dressing will coat your fork. Then get some salad on your fork.

Every bite will have great flavor without a ton of empty calories from the dressing. You’ll be surprised at how much dressing is left over that you otherwise would have eaten had you dumped it all on there from the start.
