You probably know that calcium is good for your bones… and maybe you knew that Vitamin D is as well. But do you know why? I’ll tell you… your body needs Vitamin D to absorb the calcium. And how these two work in tandem is not exclusive to calcium and Vitamin D. Vitamin C, can enhance iron absorption from supplements and plant foods. And vitamins A, D, and E are fat-soluble, meaning they will absorb better if taken with a meal that contains fat (preferably, healthy fat like avocados or olive oil).
