  • Why We Get Fat

Why We Get Fat is an invaluable key in our understanding of an international epidemic and a guide to what each of us can do about it. A follow up to his New York Times best seller, Good Calories, Bad Calories, Taubes reveals the bad nutritional science of the last century, none more damaging or misguided than the “calories-in, calories-out” model of why we get fat, and the good science that has been ignored, especially regarding insulin’s regulation of our fat tissue.

Love peanut butter but trying to watch the fat or calories? Is it really possible to get the flavor of peanuts with only 15% of the fat? Sounds too good to be true ... or is it?

Fitness Tip

  • Greek yogurt is an excellent source of protein and probiotics, while being low in carbohydrates. But it doesn’t need to be only used as a pairing with fruit.

Mix it with seasonings like garlic, dill, and parsley to create a dip for your veggies. Use ranch mix and skim milk and you’ve got a MUCH healthier salad dressing. Substitute Greek yogurt whenever a recipe calls for sour cream, like on tacos or baked potatoes. It’s an excellent alternative to eggs and oil in baked goods. Try it in place of cream cheese and mayonnaise and butter. For example, put some on a sandwich… or mix it with your potato salad or cole slaw. Be creative and you’ll find that it might be the most versatile ingredient in your refrigerator.

    Adjustable Dumbbells

The Bowflex SelectTech adjustable dumbbells are the most important pieces of equipment I own. One set of dumbbells that can range from 2.5 to 52.5 pounds, replacing the need for 15 separate sets. Easy to use. Easy to store.

If you can only have one piece of equipment, this is the piece to have.

And with Amazon, you know you'll get a great price and quick shipping!

Testimonials

  • I was feeling defeated and frustrated with my health due to a chronic illness, but Matthew and the group met me where I was at and provided the balance of grace and truth that I needed. I lost 10 lbs during my first challenge, but more importantly I learned to be faithful with my responsibilities (eating well, exercising, etc.) and to trust God with the rest.

  • Vitamix Review: Our Favorite Appliance

Vitamix. Is it everything they say it is? I'm here to tell you, it's more. This multi-purpose, powerhouse of a machine will not only help get you healthier, you'll be looking for excuses to use it. It's without its flaws, but we wouldn't trade it for 100 pounds of organic kale.
