Having a goal like shedding 15 pounds of fat or getting in better cardio shape is fine, but the more you can give your goal a real life implication, the better. So if shedding 15 pounds means you can now wear that cute dress you’ve had your eye on, buy the dress, throw away the receipt, and leave it out where you see it every day. Or cut out a picture of the race you’ll be able to run when you get in better cardio shape and tape the picture on your bathroom mirror.

Having goals and quantifying them is essential. But having a visual of the “future you” will help keep your goals on the forefront of your mind.

I was feeling defeated and frustrated with my health due to a chronic illness, but Matthew and the group met me where I was at and provided the balance of grace and truth that I needed. I lost 10 lbs during my first challenge, but more importantly I learned to be faithful with my responsibilities (eating well, exercising, etc.) and to trust God with the rest.
