If you’re not growing your own produce, here’s a quick guide on buying it at the store. The labels on fruits and vegetables will have a 4 or 5 digit code. If the produce has 4 digits, it means that it was “conventionally grown, but not organic”. If it has 5 digits, and begins with a 9, it means that the produce was organically grown. A 5 digit code that begins with an 8 indicates that the produce was genetically modified… boooo!!!!

For example:

6458 = Conventional, non-organic

91245 = Organic

84124 = GMO

While organic doesn’t mean it has more nutrients, it does mean it’s free of potentially harmful pesticides. So when possible, buy the 5 digit codes starting with the number 9.

I’m new to these weight loss challenges. I am good at starting diets but always lose my motivation. Jenny was great. Always checking in, giving support and posting inspiration. When I struggled she was understanding and encouraged me not to give up even though I did not lose as much weight as I wanted. She is such a great role model – someone who is not only a coach but in the trenches herself fighting to get healthier. I would like to do another challenge with her in the future.
