Fitness Tip

  • As mentioned in Part 1, trans and saturated fats aren’t so great for you and consumption of them should be limited. But there are healthy fats that are quite good for you. Monounsaturated fats, which are found mostly in seeds, nuts, and oils, help lower bad cholesterol. And polyunsaturated fats, found in nuts, oils, and fatty fishes like salmon, because of their omega essential fatty acids, not only help with good/bad cholesterol, but have been shown to help lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

But like most things, more does not necessarily equal better. Too much omega-6 and not enough omega-3 is bad for you. So don’t go overboard.

The takeaway: Good fat is good. Good fat in the right quantities and ratios is even better.

I love the Chalean Extreme program she recommended … Jennie also was readily available to answer any questions. She gave me so much encouragement during this time and provided informative articles on health and nutrition. I highly recommend Jennie as a dedicated coach to help you define and reach your health goals. Thank you so much Jennie for investing your time and energy into my fitness journey. I appreciate your efforts so much.

  • Vitamix Review: Our Favorite Appliance

Vitamix. Is it everything they say it is? I'm here to tell you, it's more. This multi-purpose, powerhouse of a machine will not only help get you healthier, you'll be looking for excuses to use it. It's without its flaws, but we wouldn't trade it for 100 pounds of organic kale.
