  • It depends on your goals. The average person needs about 1/2 gram for per pound you weigh, every day. If you’re active, and especially if you’re doing much strength training, you’ll want to consume more in the 1+ grams for every pound you weigh range. Remember, protein (and more specifically the amino acids that make up protein) are the fundamental building blocks of your muscles. Without sufficient amounts, lifting those weights won’t help you as much as it could.
