  • Mindless Eating

Mindless Eating is an illuminating and groundbreaking book. Food psychologist Brian Wansink shows why you may not realize how much you’re eating, what you’re eating–or why you’re even eating at all. Easily the most interesting nutrition book you'll ever read.

    PB2 Review

Love peanut butter but trying to watch the fat or calories? Is it really possible to get the flavor of peanuts with only 15% of the fat? Sounds too good to be true ... or is it?

Fitness Tip

  • When used in relation to nutrition, the term “macros” is short for macronutrients. There are three primary macronutrients: protein, carbohydrates, and fats.

Protein is the building block for your muscles and have 4 calories for every gram.

Carbohydrates (aka “carbs”) are your body’s primary source of energy. Simple carbs (like sugar) give you quick energy that fades fast. Complex carbs (like whole-grains) give longer lasting energy, but take a short while to kick in. Regardless of the type of carb, they each have 4 calories for every gram.

Think of fats as your backup source of energy… when the carbs are gone or unavailable, your body uses fat for energy instead. And these bad boys have 9 calories for every gram.

Fitness Equipment

    Adjustable Dumbbells

The Bowflex SelectTech adjustable dumbbells are the most important pieces of equipment I own. One set of dumbbells that can range from 2.5 to 52.5 pounds, replacing the need for 15 separate sets. Easy to use. Easy to store.

If you can only have one piece of equipment, this is the piece to have.

And with Amazon, you know you'll get a great price and quick shipping!

Testimonials

  • As I reached my mid 50s, decades of sedentary jobs, little exercise, and too many snacks were taking their toll. With help from Matthew, I lost 25 pounds(!) and I am in better shape now at age 55 than I was at 45.

  • Vitamix Review: Our Favorite Appliance

Vitamix. Is it everything they say it is? I'm here to tell you, it's more. This multi-purpose, powerhouse of a machine will not only help get you healthier, you'll be looking for excuses to use it. It's without its flaws, but we wouldn't trade it for 100 pounds of organic kale.
