  • Why We Get Fat

Why We Get Fat is an invaluable key in our understanding of an international epidemic and a guide to what each of us can do about it. A follow up to his New York Times best seller, Good Calories, Bad Calories, Taubes reveals the bad nutritional science of the last century, none more damaging or misguided than the “calories-in, calories-out” model of why we get fat, and the good science that has been ignored, especially regarding insulin’s regulation of our fat tissue.

    PB2 Review

Love peanut butter but trying to watch the fat or calories? Is it really possible to get the flavor of peanuts with only 15% of the fat? Sounds too good to be true ... or is it?

Fitness Tip

  • More often than not, when we suddenly crave an unhealthy food (something salty, fatty, sugary, or maybe alcohol), there has been something in our life that has triggered it. Kids stressing you out at home and then find yourself reaching for some potato chips? Get the shaft on your work bonus and then all you can think about is having pizza and a beer? Your favorite team’s best player tears his ACL and the next thing you know, you’re taking it out on a Dark Chocolate Milky Way… or three.

Emotional triggers like this are very real. However, our ways of combating them only complicate the issue, they never fix it.

The next time you find yourself obsessing over a food like this, look back on your day and take stock of what happened. See if you can backtrack into identifying the trigger, then start being on guard for it in the future.

Over time you’ll learn to be more on guard for these stressors and develop a more productive method for dealing with them… like, say, I don’t know, maybe *cough *cough Exercise *cough *cough.

Fitness Equipment

  • Adjustable Dumbbells - Home Fitness Equipment
    Adjustable Dumbbells

The Bowflex SelectTech adjustable dumbbells are the most important pieces of equipment I own. One set of dumbbells that can range from 2.5 to 52.5 pounds, replacing the need for 15 separate sets. Easy to use. Easy to store.

If you can only have one piece of equipment, this is the piece to have.

And with Amazon, you know you'll get a great price and quick shipping!

Testimonials

  • I decided to try the 21 day fix and am so glad I did. Due to an injury I wasn’t able to complete the exercise part of it. I still lost weight and owe so much of my success to Kim. She motivated and encouraged me when my injury was really getting me down. She always had time to answer my questions and she checked in with me daily.  What I loved the most was that she held me accountable!  I really don’t think I would have stuck with it on my own.

  • Vitamix Review: Our Favorite Appliance

Vitamix. Is it everything they say it is? I'm here to tell you, it's more. This multi-purpose, powerhouse of a machine will not only help get you healthier, you'll be looking for excuses to use it. It's without its flaws, but we wouldn't trade it for 100 pounds of organic kale.
