ROSI R.

Rosi Reeves - Home Fitness Guru

Location: Detroit, MI

Specialty: Developing short yet effective workouts.

Random: I swam in the English Channel when I was 14.

My passion for living a healthy lifestyle runs very deep and I love any opportunity to share that passion with others. I believe living a healthy lifestyle includes taking care of the body AND mind, and enjoying all things in moderation.

I became an Independent Beachbody Coach shortly after my daughter was born. I knew staying home was definitely something I wanted to be able to do as a mother and when I was approached to become a coach it was the perfect opportunity to do just that. The love of health was already there for me and adding the element of reaching out to others made it the perfect combination.

I began with Shakeology and soon realized what an important part of my day it was. I started with Hip Hop Abs and then my first challenge group was P90X3 where not only did I get my pre-baby body back, I got better! The best part of that challenge group? One of my team members won $500 as a part of the Beachbody Challenge for her transformation. I’m so proud of the dedication my team members put in to our groups.

As a coach I love learning about my team member’s backgrounds and what makes them “tick”. What their interests are, what they do for fun, and what they need in order to successfully live a healthy lifestyle. We are all unique and what works for some may not work for others. I believe it important to keep that in mind as I coach my team members through workouts and help guide them in their nutritional choices.

When starting a new challenge group, a group working out to the same program, I like to take some time in the beginning for us to all get to know each other. My challenge groups include daily accountability to the workout program and nutrition. I include motivation, nutritional tips and recipes, fitness information, modifications, and a little fun.

It’s important to take our health seriously but with all things in life we can’t let it become too serious. That’s why with Gurus, we throw in some fun to keep it exciting!

Fitness Tip

  • People far too often think of willpower as something you’re born with… but that’s just not the case. It’s a skill that can be developed… in fact it MUST be developed if you want to reach your goals.

It starts by reorienting your thinking. “I can’t” usually means “I don’t want to” or “I choose not to.” This has to change. You have to admit this is you and own it. Only then can you move beyond it.

And then remember that willpower is not a limited resource. If it’s a skill, then it is infinite. If you’ve learned how to play the piano, you don’t just play one song and then you’ve run out. You have a skill and you can play another song and another and another. Willpower is no different… you can draw on it again and again and again.

Yes, everyone has different gifts, but willpower is not one of them… it’s a learned skill and because it’s skill, it’s available to all who are willing to work at it.

Testimonials

  • As I reached my mid-40s, a lot of stress, very little exercise, and running too many people to the doctor resulted in lots of fast food. I was feeling tired and run down. Jenny Glenn contacted me about a challenge group and I joined. I took baby steps. Jenny was always there to encourage me and guide me and pick me up when I felt I had failed. I am doing much better. Jenny has continued to always be there for me and encourage me.

  • Vitamix Review: Our Favorite Appliance

Vitamix. Is it everything they say it is? I'm here to tell you, it's more. This multi-purpose, powerhouse of a machine will not only help get you healthier, you'll be looking for excuses to use it. It's without its flaws, but we wouldn't trade it for 100 pounds of organic kale.
