Fitness Tip

  • For all you type A’s out there establishing new lifestyle habits, let me just rip this Band-Aid right off: you will never eat perfectly and you will never exercise perfectly.

Some of you are relieved to hear this. Others are ticked. And yet others are taking this as a challenge. But once you understand this, the process of becoming healthier becomes a lot more enjoyable. You see, additives will sneak into your foods. Poor sleep will sabotage a workout. Cravings will be temporarily satisfied. Things happen. Life happens.

But if you adopted the mindset to improve rather than perfect, wouldn’t you feel less pressure? Wouldn’t it free you up to better enjoy the journey and to celebrate the improvements you did make?

As long as you’re not using this mantra as justification to skip workouts or eat poorly, it should serve you well in the never-ending journey to live healthier.

Practice does not make perfect, it makes permanent. So whereas perfection is unattainable, permanent progress is not.

Testimonials

  • As I reached my mid-40s, a lot of stress, very little exercise, and running too many people to the doctor resulted in lots of fast food. I was feeling tired and run down. Jenny Glenn contacted me about a challenge group and I joined. I took baby steps. Jenny was always there to encourage me and guide me and pick me up when I felt I had failed. I am doing much better. Jenny has continued to always be there for me and encourage me.

  • Vitamix Review: Our Favorite Appliance

Vitamix. Is it everything they say it is? I'm here to tell you, it's more. This multi-purpose, powerhouse of a machine will not only help get you healthier, you'll be looking for excuses to use it. It's without its flaws, but we wouldn't trade it for 100 pounds of organic kale.
