  • Weigh yourself before and after a long run (or bike). For every pound you lose, replace it with 16 ounces of water. For example, if you normally lose 2 pounds (32 ounces) over the course of 2 hours, you will want to start drinking 8 ounces of water every 30 minutes (or 4 ounces every 15 minutes) during your training or race.
